Ethical Animal Rehabilitation and Wildlife Care Volunteering
Interested in hands-on wildlife care and animal rehabilitation volunteer programs? Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers offers ethical, immersive experiences at animal rescue centres and wildlife sanctuaries across Australia and Asia. Volunteers work directly with rescued animals—including kangaroos, koalas, wombats, elephants, sun bears, orangutans, and more—helping to support their recovery, wellbeing, and (where possible) release back into the wild.
Our animal care projects involve daily tasks such as food preparation, feeding, enclosure cleaning, behavioural enrichment, habitat maintenance, and observation—all conducted under expert supervision and with strict ethical guidelines. There’s no petting, posing, or performing—just real rehabilitation work that puts animal welfare first.
Perfect for animal lovers, vet students, gap year travellers, and anyone passionate about wildlife protection, these volunteer opportunities provide meaningful, responsible ways to contribute to the care of injured, orphaned, and displaced animals in need.
Our Global Approach At Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers, we focus on the projects we run ourselves or have close, long-term collaborations with. This ensures every experience meets our promise of being
